Nintendo Switch 2 games now play on the Mac
Eleven Nintendo Switch 2 Games now play on the Mac through nxnative, from Mario Kart World to Ocarina of Time. They need no keys; iPhone and iPad are untested.
nxnative now turns Nintendo Switch 2 games you own into native apps, and eleven of them are tested so far, all on the Mac:
- Donkey Kong Bananza
- Splatoon Raiders
- Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, up to 120 fps on a Mac with a 120 Hz screen
- Pokémon Pokopia
- Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
- Mario Kart World
- Mario Tennis Fever
- Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
- Star Fox
- Kirby Air Riders
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
That makes 143 tested Games, Switch and Switch 2 together.
Switch 2 games pack differently from Switch games. You give the packing script one .nup file or a folder of the game's files instead of NSP files, and no keys are needed. So far they have been tested as Mac apps; none has been tested on iPhone or iPad yet. The Switch 2 Games page sums this up, and the install guide shows the command.
The site now marks every Game with its Console, so the Games list can show only Switch 2 Games, and a Game page says whether it has been tested on iPhone and iPad or on the Mac only. The Build command generator writes a Switch 2 command with no keys and the tested version filled in.
All three Launchers pack Switch 2 games on the Mac too: LumaNX, NX Play and NX2Apple. See Launchers.
