Five more Games, with Hollow Knight and TRIANGLE STRATEGY
Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, TRIANGLE STRATEGY, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse and SUPER ROBOT WARS Y run on the Mac, and Tears of the Kingdom 1.4.2 is fixed.
Five more Games run on the Mac. None of them has been built for iPhone or iPad yet.
- Hollow Knight plays at 60 fps, as on the Switch, with update 1.5.12620.
- Dead Cells plays at 60 fps with sound and saves, with update 1.25.0.
- TRIANGLE STRATEGY plays at a steady 60 fps, up from 30 on the Switch, through the prologue into the first battle, with update 1.1.1.
- Castlevania: Belmont's Curse plays at 60 fps through its first areas, with update 1.1.0.
- SUPER ROBOT WARS Y plays at 60 fps through its first maps, with update 1.4.1.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom packed with update 1.4.2 no longer runs at double speed: a tester saw it run at 30 fps and real speed.
On the Mac, Super Mario Odyssey no longer stops with a fatal error after about 11 minutes of play, and the sound of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's opening movies no longer crackles.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered now also works on the iPhone, though its sound drops out at times.
In Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, choosing amiibo on the title screen now shows the game's "NFC is disabled" message instead of stopping the game.
When one game file holds two games, such as a cartridge with both Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, the packing script now stops and names both. Add --title-id with the title ID of the one you want; each game gets its own app. See the Guide.
Mac apps also get three changes:
- A controller that macOS pairs but Apple's controller support does not list, such as an 8BitDo controller in its own mode, now works and takes a player. See Controllers.
- The mouse pointer hides over the game while you play, and comes back when you move the mouse.
- The display stays awake while the game window is in front, even when you play with only a controller.
