No emulator needed: Paper Mario: The Origami King runs natively on the Apple chip. How nxnative compares with emulators
Running through nxnative

How Paper Mario: The Origami King runs
The Origami King plays on the Mac at 30 fps, as on the Switch. A short check covered the title, a new game, the opening drive into Toad Town and the walk up to Peach's castle with Mario under your control, with sound. No iPhone app has been built yet.
How it runs
nxnative runs the game without changes to its code. One visual problem has been fixed: small magenta squares used to flicker on the castle path and next to the on-screen display, caused by the game's anti-aliasing pass reading the same image it was drawing into. nxnative now spots such draws by itself and gives that pass its own copy, and they are gone.
Memory settled at about 3 GB through the opening. There is no 60 fps option for this game yet.
