How Super Mario Party Jamboree runs

Super Mario Party Jamboree plays on the Mac at 60 fps on the board. Tested from a fresh save: the opening movie, the title, character setup, Toad's tour of the Party Plaza, the island map, then a Mario Party game on Mega Wiggler's Tree Party against computer players, with dice rolls, the item shop, one four-player minigame (Snag the Flags), the results, the save and the start of turn two. No iPhone app has been built yet.

How it runs

Early on the board was covered by flat grey shapes and the board spaces were missing, because nxnative did not pass along one detail of how the game draws many copies of an object at once. That is now fixed for every game. A freeze of the opening movie has also been fixed.

The game's boards, minigames and modes live in over a hundred separate code modules that load as you play. Testing loaded only one board and one minigame, so most of them have not run yet.

Bring update 2.3.0

Only update 2.3.0 has been tested. Put it in the same folder as the base game before you Pack.

Controls

The Packed app starts in the 2D touch layout. The opening movie cannot be skipped on the first start; on later starts the minus or plus button skips it.

Good to know

  • Motion minigames were turned off when the game asked, so they are untested.
  • Other boards and modes such as Koopathlon, Bowser Kaboom Squad and Rhythm Kitchen have not been checked.

Known issues

  • Motion-controlled minigames were turned off in testing and have not been checked.
  • It has not been tried on iPhone, and no iPhone app has been built.

Packing command

Run this in your nxnative folder on the Build Mac. Replace the game folder and the keys path with your own. Add --platform mac-app to get a Mac app instead of an iPhone and iPad app.
