No emulator needed: Baba Is You runs natively on the Apple chip. How nxnative compares with emulators
Running through nxnative
How Baba Is You runs
Baba Is You plays on the Mac at a steady 60 fps with sound. Tested through the splash and title menu, the opening and a solved level 00, up to the world map. A second start continued from the save with level 00 still solved, so saving and loading work.
How it runs
nxnative runs the game with no game-specific fixes at all. It is a tiny Game: its game files come to about 0.1 GB, and memory stayed around 700 MB. Its puzzles are drawn with only a handful of graphics programs, so there are no first-time hitches.
Bring update 1.0.12
Only update 1.0.12 was tested. Put it in the same folder as the base game before you Pack.
Controls
The Packed app starts in the 2D touch layout: the left stick moves Baba and A waits a turn.
Good to know
- Only level 00 and the world map were played. Later worlds, the level editor and other languages are untested.
Known issues
- It has not been tried on iPhone, and no iPhone app has been built yet.
Packing command
Run this in your nxnative folder on the Build Mac. Replace the game folder and the keys path with your own. Add --platform mac-app to get a Mac app instead of an iPhone and iPad app.
