How Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp runs
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp plays on the iPhone, with a Packed app of about 7.1 GB. There is no update to bring: the tested version is the base game, version 1.0.0, which is the only version.
How it runs
On the Mac, it plays through the opening movie, the title, Nell's introduction, a new casual campaign and the first training battle, with sound. Memory use stayed level over 15 minutes without errors.
Menus run at 60 fps. Battles run at 30 fps, but that is the game's own limit, not a performance problem: the project developers measured the CPU and GPU as mostly idle during battle.
Controls
The Packed app starts in the 3D touch layout because it includes a D-pad, which moves the map cursor. The tutorial battle was played with it.
Good to know
- The 30 fps in battle is set by the game itself, so a faster device will not raise it.
