How SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition runs
SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition plays on the Mac at 60 fps with sound. Tested through the intro's story slides, the title menu, a new game on Experienced and the start of the first mission, including Piper's dialogue, looking around and the move cursor. A second start loaded the save back into the mission. An iPhone app has been built but not tried on a device.
How it runs
nxnative runs the game with no game-specific fixes. It is a light Game: its files come to about 0.2 GB and memory stayed under 1 GB. Brief pauses of a fraction of a second appear at scene changes such as the title and mission loading; in play, frames hold at 60 fps.
The Ultimate Edition's add-on content ships inside the game itself, but its missions have not been played.
Bring update 2.2.1
Only update 2.2.1 has been tested. Put it in the same folder as the base game before you Pack.
Controls
The Packed app starts in the 2D touch layout: the left stick moves the cursor, the right stick looks around and A confirms. With a save, X skips the story slides.
Good to know
- Combat, the ship, the map and other languages have not been checked.
Known issues
- An iPhone app has been built but not yet played on iPhone.
Packing command
Run this in your nxnative folder on the Build Mac. Replace the game folder and the keys path with your own. Add --platform mac-app to get a Mac app instead of an iPhone and iPad app.

Which iPhone, iPad or Mac do I need to play SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition?
An iPhone 15 Pro or newer (A17 Pro chip or later) or an iPad with an M1 chip or later, on iOS or iPadOS 26 or later, or a Mac with Apple silicon. iPads with the A17 Pro chip (iPad mini) have the iPhone 15 Pro's chip but are untested by nxnative. Packing needs a Mac with macOS 26.6 or later and Xcode 27.1.
Is SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition included?
No. Neither this site nor nxnative includes any game. You Pack SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition from your own copy of the game, with keys dumped from your own Switch.
