How Persona 5 Royal runs
Persona 5 Royal is a large Game: its iPhone app for update 1.0.2 came to about 14.9 GB in the last published sizes. So far it has been checked through its opening on the Mac only.
How it runs
On the Mac, testing covered the boot, the startup movies, the title and language menus, the opening dialogue and the casino escape. It ran at about 30 fps, the game's own frame rate. One run went past 35 minutes without a crash or a missing shader. Moving, steering the camera and the first platform jumps all worked.
That is an opening check, not a full playthrough. Battles, later story scenes and saving over a long session are still to be tested, and the iPhone app has not been played on a device yet.
Controls
The Packed app starts in the 3D touch layout, because you move with the left stick and steer the camera with the right. In the casino, A jumps at the marked platform edges. During the opening, + lets you skip movies.
Good to know
- Pick offline mode when the game asks about the network.
- At about 14.9 GB, the Packed app may be too big for some sideloading setups. nxnative's packing script can keep the game files out of the app with
--romfs separate; see the install guide. - Tested with update 1.0.2. Other versions may behave differently.
Known issues
- Only the opening has been tested, on the Mac. The iPhone, battles and saving over a longer playthrough are not tested yet.
Packing command
Run this in your nxnative folder on the Build Mac. Replace the game folder and the keys path with your own. Add --platform mac-app to get a Mac app instead of an iPhone and iPad app.

Which iPhone, iPad or Mac do I need to play Persona 5 Royal?
An iPhone 15 Pro or newer (A17 Pro chip or later) or an iPad with an M1 chip or later, on iOS or iPadOS 26 or later, or a Mac with Apple silicon. iPads with the A17 Pro chip (iPad mini) have the iPhone 15 Pro's chip but are untested by nxnative. Packing needs a Mac with macOS 26.6 or later and Xcode 27.1.
Is Persona 5 Royal included?
No. Neither this site nor nxnative includes any game. You Pack Persona 5 Royal from your own copy of the game, with keys dumped from your own Switch.
Does online play work in Persona 5 Royal?
Online play in Persona 5 Royal is not confirmed to work, so do not count on it.
