How Well Dweller runs
Well Dweller plays on the Mac at 60 fps with sound. Tested through the language list, the title screen, the opening story and the first room with its dialog, plus the pause menu with its options, stats, pages and map tabs. It has only been tested on the Mac.
How it runs
Well Dweller is a GameMaker game that draws with OpenGL rather than the Switch's usual graphics system. nxnative's OpenGL layer runs it on the Mac's Metal graphics, and several fixes made while bringing it up apply to every game built the same way.
The game's own save file is written, but its settings file is not, so it asks for the language again on every start.
The music plays without dropouts. Lip-sync and cutscene timing were not checked.

Tested with the base game, version 1.0.0.
Controls
The Packed app starts in the 2D touch layout. On the Mac the game was played with the keyboard (WASD and J/K) or a controller.
Good to know
- Later rooms, the map itself and saving after a room have not been checked.
Known issues
- The game asks for the language on every start, because its settings are not kept between starts.
- Only the opening and the first room have been played.
- It has only been tested on the Mac.
Packing command
Run this in your nxnative folder on the Build Mac. Replace the game folder and the keys path with your own. Add --platform mac-app to get a Mac app instead of an iPhone and iPad app.

Yes. Well Dweller is tested with nxnative on update 1.0.0.
Which iPhone, iPad or Mac do I need to play Well Dweller?
An iPhone 15 Pro or newer (A17 Pro chip or later) or an iPad with an M1 chip or later, on iOS or iPadOS 26 or later, or a Mac with Apple silicon. iPads with the A17 Pro chip (iPad mini) have the iPhone 15 Pro's chip but are untested by nxnative. Packing needs a Mac with macOS 26.6 or later and Xcode 27.1.
Is Well Dweller included?
No. Neither this site nor nxnative includes any game. You Pack Well Dweller from your own copy of the game, with keys dumped from your own Switch.
Does online play work in Well Dweller?
Online play in Well Dweller is not confirmed to work, so do not count on it.
